Workplace Description
The Police Region North is the largest region in terms of area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police areas: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which together are divided into 12 local police areas.
The Västernorrland police area is divided into three local police areas: Medelpad, Northern Ångermanland, and Southern Ångermanland. At the police area level, there is an investigation section, serious crimes section, section for particularly vulnerable crime victims, on-duty preliminary investigation management, investigation section, criminal economic section, and station command operations. Furthermore, there is a police area office.
The position is a summer temporary position during the period from June to August with a chance of extension in hours.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a process server, you are an important part of the legal chain. You work closely with our clients, such as the District Court, the Enforcement Authority, etc., as well as other partners both within and outside the authority. You primarily work in the police's various IT systems, but it also occurs that you will go out and carry out service deliveries to those being sought. Therefore, you need to be comfortable handling and communicating via radio. You will receive training for the tasks.
Your role includes the following responsibilities and areas of responsibility:
- Register and process incoming service delivery cases
- Search for individuals to be served
- Carry out service deliveries
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- High school diploma or other education equivalent to a high school diploma
- Good computer skills and ease in learning new IT systems
- Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Driver's license B
We consider it an advantage if you also:
- Are a police student
- Have current experience working with service delivery operations
- Have current administrative experience that the employer assesses as relevant for the position
- Have current experience of physical contact with people in vulnerable situations that the employer assesses as relevant for the position
- Have current experience of working in government or other public operations that the employer assesses as relevant for the position
- Basic legal understanding acquired through studies or work experience that the employer assesses as relevant
Personal Qualities
As an employee, you are the face of the police and are expected to work with commitment, availability, and efficiency.
As a process server, there are demands for the ability to prioritize, be flexible, and solution-focused. The tasks vary with many points of contact; therefore, there are also demands for a service-oriented, calm, and empathetic approach with good collaboration skills, as you will be in contact with people in crisis or in a vulnerable situation. You also need to have a good ability to take initiative and drive your work forward.
Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.

If you become a candidate for employment, you do not have the right to vacation leave. Instead, you will receive vacation compensation paid after the employment has ended.

An employment with the Police Authority may begin with a probationary period of six months.
